How To Disable Google Feed “Stories To Read” Section

Google App Integrated With A Google Feed Which Has A Stories To Read Section Which Loads Articles In Which You Take Interest

Google App’s Feed Probably The Best Place To Read News On The Topics In Which You Are Interested. You Can Follow Topics In Google App To Read And Unfollow In Which You Have Not Interest.

Previously, Swiping A Story Removes It From The Feed Section. But After The Update, Google Disable The Swipe Feature. Now, You Have To Tap On Three Dots And Choose Hide This Story. This Is Too Annoying.

However, Many Of You Also Don’t Want Those Stories In Google App’s Feed. The Better Solution To Get Rid Of Those Stories Is Turning Off Google Feed.

Update – The Previous Method[2nd one in this list] Which Is Written Below Is No Longer Working!! But We’re Updating This Post With A New Method Which Helps You To Ged Rid Of Google Feed Stories.

Updated Method –

  • Open Google App On Your Smartphone.
  • Tap On Menu Button[Top Right Of The Google App].
  • There You Will See “Settings” Option. Tap On It.
  • Now Head To “Accounts & Privacy Option.
  • Then Tap On “Google Account“[First Option] Under “Account & Privacy Section
  • Choose The Third Option “Sign Out”[This Will Sign Out You Only From Google App, Reset Google Apps Will Work Fine].
  • After It, Your Google App Will Be Open Again. You Have To Tap On “Skip” Option.

Old Method To Turn Off Google Feed-

Here Are The Steps You Have To Follow To Turn Off Google Feed –

  • Open Google App
  • Tap On Menu And Go To Settings
  • Scroll Down To Bottom, Head To “Your Feed” Section
  • Turn Off The Feed Option And Confirm.

That’s It. Go Back And Check It. You Will See “No Cards Available Right Now” Message.

However, You Might See Some Stories In Upcoming Section. But There Is No Chance Of Google App Shows You Stories To Read Section.

You Can Also Turn Off Trending Searches Or History Which Display When You Go For Search. You Just Have To Turn Off Google App’s Autocomplete Option. Here’s How –

  • Open Google App On Your Device
  • Tap On Menu And Go To Settings.
  • Under Settings, Scroll Down To Bottom
  • Head To “Autocomplete” And Turn Off The Option.

After It, You Will Not See Any History, Suggestions, And Trending Searches When You Tap On The Search Box.
