Hollows are one of the three main races in VV: Ultimatum and have a unique progression path that eventually leads to becoming an Arrancar. Unlike other races, Hollow players evolve through several forms, gain permanent Hollow Traits, and unlock powerful abilities before removing their mask. This guide covers the entire Hollow progression process, from your first Hollow form all the way to unlocking Resurrection.
Choosing Your First Hollow in VV Ultimatum
After completing the tutorial, you will be asked to choose one of four Hollow types. While all of them are playable, your choice matters because you will later have to fight this same Hollow during your Resurrection trial.
- Gorilla
- Balanced speed, damage, and defense.
- Recommended for most players.
- Easiest option for general progression.
- Lizard
- Higher mobility and speed.
- Good for players who prefer fast movement.
- Centipede
- Extremely fast.
- Can be difficult to deal with during your Resurrection fight.

- Continue farming until evolution triggers automatically.
- You will eventually evolve into a Menos.
While progressing as a Hollow, you also have a chance to obtain valuable Hollow Traits from defeated Hollows.
Menos Progression in VV Ultimatum
After becoming a Menos, you unlock the ability to evolve into an Arrancar by pressing L. However, this is strongly discouraged because evolving this early gives you the lowest possible trait capacity.
- Menos Arrancar can only keep 2 Hollow Traits.
- Provides the weakest long-term progression.
- Best avoided unless you want a very early Arrancar.
To continue progressing as a Menos, complete the required objectives.
- Destroy environmental objects.
- Defeat additional Hollows.
- Complete the evolution requirements.
Once finished, you will automatically evolve into an Adjuchas.
Adjuchas Progression in VV Ultimatum
Adjuchas unlock several new abilities and allow you to equip an additional Hollow Trait.

You can evolve into an Adjucar by pressing L, but continuing your Hollow progression is usually the better option.
To reach Vasto Lorde, you must gain 70 progression points.

Vasto Lorde Progression in VV Ultimatum
Vasto Lorde is the final Hollow evolution and the strongest stage before becoming an Arrancar.

- Recommended form before evolving into an Arrancar.
This is the ideal time to finish collecting all the traits you want because they become permanent after evolving.
How Hollow Traits Work in VV Ultimatum
Hollow Traits are special passive bonuses that drop from defeated Hollows. To obtain them, you must consume the defeated Hollow after winning the fight.
- Defeat a Hollow player.
- Consume their remains.
- Accept or reject the offered trait.
Traits are permanent once acquired, so choosing the right ones is important.
Some of the most desirable Hollow Traits include:
- Deadly Claws
- Iron Skin
- Wings
- Tailbone
- Innocuous Presence

Important Trait Warning : Once you become an Arrancar, you can no longer obtain Hollow Traits. Make sure you have all the traits you want before removing your mask.
How to Become an Arrancar in VV Ultimatum
After reaching Menos, Adjuchas, or Vasto Lorde, you can evolve into an Arrancar by pressing L.
Although the option becomes available early, waiting until Vasto Lorde is usually the best choice because it allows you to keep four traits instead of two or three.
When evolving:
- Your Hollow mask is removed.
- Your stats are reset.
- You become an Arrancar.
- You gain access to Arrancar weapons.
Best Arrancar Weapon
When selecting your first Arrancar weapon, the Spear is generally the most beginner-friendly option.
- Long attack range.
- Easy to use in both PvE and PvP.

How to Unlock Resurrection in VV Ultimatum
After becoming an Arrancar, your next major objective is unlocking Resurrection.
- Equip your weapon.
- Press M to meditate.

Meditation is most effective when your Inner World is actively communicating with you. You will know this is happening when yellow text appears above your skill bar.
Eventually:
- You will receive a question during meditation.
- Any answer works.

- Turtle can be frustrating because of delayed attacks.
- You can retry the fight as many times as needed.
A useful trick is to meditate during missions, invasions, and PvP activities, as the Inner World tends to communicate more frequently during those situations.

- Choose Gorilla or Lizard.
- Farm Hollows and evolve into Menos.
- Continue to Adjuchas instead of becoming an Arrancar immediately.
- Reach Vasto Lorde.
- Collect your desired 4 Hollow Traits.
