Here’s the updated VV Ultimatum Shinigami progression guide. Find out how to get started as a Shinigami/Soul Reaper, get Shikai, and more in this detailed guide.
VV Ultimatum Shinigami Progression Guide
Shinigami progression in VV Ultimatum mainly revolves around Main Story Quests, Soul Society Missions, meditation, and Shikai training. The path is fairly structured, but you need to keep moving through each step in the right order if you want to unlock Shikai without slowing yourself down.
In the early game, your focus should be on leveling up through quests and missions. Once you reach Level 25, the Shikai progression path opens up, and from there you begin working toward your Inner World, your Shikai fight, and finally your Shikai abilities.
How Shinigami Progression Works in VV Ultimatum
- Complete Main Story Quests and Soul Society Missions to level up.
- Quests can be found from NPCs in places like:
- Soul Society Outskirts
- The Marsh
- Arctic Plains
- Hueco Mundo
- If you cannot find an NPC, hold C to use Sense and reveal nearby quest givers.
- Keep grinding until you reach Level 25.
Soul Society Missions in VV Ultimatum
Soul Society Missions unlock after you finish a few Main Story Quests in Fort Adam and Soul Society Outskirts. Once that is done, Soul Society becomes available.
- Press U to open the portal and travel to Soul Society.
- Go to the Hub area.
- Buy a Soul Pager from Kou, the Missions NPC standing outside the Hub.
- Use the Soul Pager to:
- Request missions
- Join active missions
- Request Promotion Tasks
- Promotion Tasks help increase your Rank, which makes you stronger and lets you take harder missions.
Getting Mission Tickets in VV Ultimatum
Mission Tickets are required for Soul Society Missions. You will need to keep collecting them as part of your normal progression.
- Complete Main Story and Daily Quests to receive Mission Tickets.
- Defeat NPCs and other enemies such as:
- Hollows
- Dragonflies
- Bats
- Other creatures
- Open chests found in the world or earned through missions.
Important Early Progression Tip
Do not just grind mobs without moving through your quests and missions. The fastest route is to keep progressing through the questline until you reach Level 25, since that is when meditation and Shikai progression begin.
When you meditate for the first time after reaching Level 25, a green aura appears around your body. That means your Shikai journey has started.
How to Obtain Shikai in VV Ultimatum
Shikai is unlocked through a mix of leveling, meditation, Spirit Whispers, and boss-style fights inside your Inner World. You need patience here, because skipping steps or ignoring Whispers makes the process harder.
- Reach Level 25.
- Meditate for the first time and look for the green aura.
- Wait for Spirit Whispers to appear above your HP bar.
- When a Whisper appears, meditate right away to earn Shikai EXP.
- If you ignore the Whispers for too long, Shikai obtainment becomes harder.
When a Whisper appears, you need to meditate immediately so you can travel to the Inner World. If you go to sleep instead, it means you still need more Shikai EXP, so return to grinding quests and missions before trying again.
Once you have enough Shikai EXP and you meditate after a Whisper, you will be sent to a white void.
Task 1 – Solve the Bells Puzzle
When you enter the white void, you will see white and blue orbs. Follow the blue orbs until you find the bells. Each bell can either trigger a fight or a riddle.
- Interact with each bell one by one.
- Some bells will start NPC fights.
- Some bells will ask riddles you must answer correctly.
- Wrong answers will send you back to the main world.
- Solved bells turn blue and stay completed even if you leave and come back later.
Riddle Answers
- I cannot talk, but I always reply when spoken to. What am I?
- Answer: 2 – An Echo
- What gets broken without being held?
- Answer: 1 – A Promise
- What is always in front of you, but can’t be seen?
- Answer: 1 – The Future
After you finish all the bells, you will be sent back to the main world. That completes the first part of the Shikai process.
Task 2 – Return to the Inner World
After the bell puzzle is finished, meditate again to go back to the Inner World. The first time you return, the area will be covered in fog.
- To clear the fog, you need to complete a main story quest.
- This quest sends you back to the main world.
- You then need to reach Level 35.
- After that, meditate again to return to the Inner World.
- Once you come back, the fog will be gone.
Task 3 – Fight Shikai NPC
Now you need to find your Shikai NPC inside the Inner World. The NPC does not have a fixed spawn point, so you will need to search for it.
- Speak to the NPC when you find it.
- If you have enough Shikai EXP, you can start the fight.
- If not, go back and earn more by completing quests and missions.
The first fight is easier and only needs to be completed once. After that, you need to gather more Shikai EXP and return for the full boss battle.
Shikai Boss Fight Phases
- Base Form
- The boss uses your own skills and passives.
- Second Form
- The boss revives.
- It uses unique moves along with your own moves and passives.
- Final Form
- When the boss drops below three HP bars, it regenerates four more bars.
- It also switches to a different weapon.
Defeat the boss and execute it to return to the main world. At that point, you will have your Shikai Weapon.
How to Use Your Shikai Weapon in VV Ultimatum
- Press and hold E to equip your Shikai Weapon.
- This replaces your primary weapon during combat.
- Once equipped, you can use your Shikai abilities in battle.
How to Unlock Shikai Abilities in VV Ultimatum
After getting your Shikai, you still need to unlock its abilities. That is done by going back into the Inner World and finding the correct weapon silhouette.
- Mediate again to return to the Inner World.
- Talk to the Shikai NPC again.
- If you have enough Shikai EXP, you will be sent to the white void again.
- Look for the silhouette of your Shikai weapon.
- Interact with that silhouette to unlock your Shikai abilities.
Once that is done, your Shinigami progression is fully underway, and your build becomes much stronger from there.
That’s all I have for now in this post on the VV Ultimatum Shinigami Progression Guide.
