In this post, I have shared Hero Blasters Defense guide and tips for beginners. Learn how to play, get stronger, farm items, and progress in Hero Blasters Defense.
Hero Blasters Defense is a casual tower defense game that blends block-matching puzzles with strategic combat. Solve block puzzles to summon heroes and place them to defend against waves of monsters. Merge and upgrade units, unlock powerful legendary heroes, complete quests, and earn rewards through a cycle of puzzle, battle, and growth that keeps gameplay engaging.
A Beginner’s Guide To Hero Blasters Defense
As of this writing, the game has 20 chapters. In each chapter, you fight hordes of enemies and their bosses. You can only progress if you clear all the waves in one go. In each chapter, you face around 15 waves of enemies. Each subsequent wave is more difficult than the previous one.
Your job is to defend the wall from the enemies. Eliminate all the enemies before they destroy the wall. While the gameplay is simple to understand, the roguelike elements make it very challenging.
Solve block puzzles, fill the gauge, and get heroes.
Take your time and solve the block puzzles. The blocks are given randomly; place them so you can fill one lane of the grid horizontally or vertically. Combos help you fill the yellow bar gauge fast. Once the yellow bar at the bottom fills, you get to choose a common-rarity hero. At the start, it fills rapidly, allowing you to summon the heroes faster.
Merge to get higher-grade heroes.
You can merge two duplicate heroes to get one higher-grade hero. The merge results are pretty random. The hero acquired through merging may belong to any class: spirit, angel, human, or demon. One thing is certain, that it would be of a higher grade.
- Merge two novice heroes to get an advanced/green hero
- Merge two advanced/green rarity heroes to get an elite/blue hero
- Merge two blue/elite heroes to get a champion/purple hero
While you can get to the epic-grade heroes through merging, legendary heroes can only be obtained if you have three specific heroes on the battlefield. To summon a legendary hero, you need 1 blue/elite hero + 1 green/advanced hero + 1 grey/novice hero. All legendary-grade heroes have unique recipes. For example, Baltar is the first legendary hero for all players. You can summon him if you have Drake, Kairan, and Adela on the battlefield. Suppose you have all these heroes while in the battle, an icon will appear on the right side of the screen, which you can tap to summon Baltar. The same is true for other legendary heroes.
Hero Blasters Defense Battle Guide & Tips
The first tip is to take your time and solve the puzzles strategically. Aim to have the combos fill the yellow bar at the bottom faster. The faster you fill the yellow bar at the bottom, the quicker you get the heroes. Have the legendary hero recipe in mind [the one you want to summon] because you will need them to defeat the boss and monster rush. 1 novice, 1 advanced, and 1 elite is what you need to summon a legendary hero. But since the merging results are random(you can get any hero of +1 grade), luck will play a significant role in completing the legendary recipe.
You can buy more legendary heroes in Hero Blasters Defense with the gems. That gives you the option to utilize other low-rarity heroes. For instance, if you only have Baltar, you can only use Adela, Kairan, and Drake. But if you have other legendary heroes, you can utilize more low-rarity heroes. Example: to summon Michael, you need Seliel, Lipiel, and Seraphina. With more options, you can summon a legendary hero quickly.
But you have limited gems, so spend wisely[read their stats and skill details in the hero menu]. I would recommend prioritizing Michael. He has impressive stats, and his level 1 skill deals 150% attack DMG to enemies in range and reduces their speed by 50% for 3 seconds.
The second tip is to choose your reward carefully. Eliminating enemies grants you EXP, and when the blue bar at the top of the battle screen fills, you get to choose a reward; for instance, recovering wall HP, reducing enemy speed, or increasing specific class heroes’ attack or attack speed. The effects, like lowering enemy speed, stack until last. I find reducing the enemy speed helps a lot; with reduced movement speed, they take longer to reach the wall, and your heroes can pulverize them before they come close.
If you are defeated and want to continue, watch the video ad for a free revive instead of using gems. Repeat the stages, even if it means defeat, to grind resources like coins, scrolls, and keys. You can use the scrolls to upgrade the hero cards; leveling heroes unlocks new skills and their maximum potential.
Know Your Heroes
It’s very important to be familiar with heroes’ abilities in Hero Blasters Defense so you can use them effectively in the battle. For example, some heroes inflict DMG to all the enemies, and they can be super helpful in monster rush when you have to face a large wave of enemies, and their AoE skill DMG can help you immensely. Some heroes have buff skills rather than the DMG skills. You can utilize their skill to assist other heroes. For example, Fenrir can increase nearby allies’ attack speed by 50% for 3 seconds with the Ferocious Howl skill.
Some heroes, like Ardel and Michael, can reduce the enemies’ movement speed with their skills. I like heroes like Ardel, Orok, and Michael because of their abilities to inflict DMG and reduce enemies’ movement.
Check Out The Daily Shop
You can get free gems and gold by watching video ads [shop -> daily shop and gold]. And also, the daily shop features hero cards that you can buy with the gold coins.
For more rewards, complete the quest, achievements, and adventure pass missions. If you are F2P, you will have to grind a lot because later stages are very difficult to beat without maxed-out legendary heroes. Legendary-hero cards are super-super hard to get, and because of that, you have a hard time leveling them and unlocking their skills.
