FISCH BOREAL PINES UPDATE GUIDE

Summary: The Boreal Pines update adds a new northern forest region with exclusive equipment, quests, and a new hunt. Players can explore Boreal Pines beyond the Northern Summit, access reinforced crab cages, take on new quests, hunt the Frostwyrm, craft a limited Fischmas rod, and use a fully revamped Quest Book. A new code is also available, with a live event planned for Christmas Day.

BOREAL PINES REGION

The Boreal Pines can be found at GPS coordinates (21849, 132, 4257) and is located right next to the Northern Expedition Island. To reach it, first travel to the Expedition portal at (18100, 130, 2700) and cross to the other side. From there, use your GPS to head toward Boreal Pines. Visually, the area looks like a blend of the Northern Expedition and Snowcap Island, making it easy to recognize once you’re close.

The Frostwyrm is the 12th and final fish required to complete the Boreal Pines Bestiary. It can only be caught inside the Crystal Fissure during the Frostwyrm Hunt, an event that usually begins during the Day-to-Night transition. If needed, you can use a Sundial Totem to force the correct timing. Once the hunt begins, you’ll see a notification on your screen that says “Frostwyrm Hunt Has Begun.”

After the event starts, head to the Crystal Fissure entrance at GPS (21708, 136, 3942). Inside this area, you’ll be able to fish for the Frostwyrm, but only if all required conditions are met. Make sure you’re using your best available rod, as the Frostwyrm is one of the rarest catches in the region.

The required fishing conditions for the Frostwyrm are:

  • Bait: Sapphire Krill or Frostnova Bait
  • Weather: Rain
  • Time: Night
  • Season: Winter

If any of these conditions are missing, the Frostwyrm will not appear, so it’s best to prepare everything in advance before entering the Crystal Fissure.

When it comes to completing the Boreal Pines Bestiary, having a strong rod makes a noticeable difference. The best options for this area are the Blade of Glorp, Ice Wrapers, No-Life Rod, and the Brick Rod, as they provide solid stats and consistency for catching the local fish.

It’s also important to note that not all Boreal Pines fish are caught in open water. Some species, such as the Eelpout, can only be fished from the Frozen Pond located in the center of Boreal Pines, so make sure to check that area if you’re missing specific entries in your bestiary.

REINFORCED CRAB CAGES

  • Available for purchase exclusively at Boreal Pines.
  • Can catch up to four fish at the same time.
  • Slower operation speed and higher cost compared to standard crab cages.

NEW QUESTS

  • New key quests are available within Boreal Pines.
  • One quest involves a person frozen inside a cave.
  • Player movement is slowed in certain conditions, and winter boots may be required to progress.

FROSTWYRM HUNT

  • A new hunt becomes available in the Boreal Pines area.
  • The Frostwyrm appears to be more active during cold seasons.
  • The Frostwyrm is designed to be a challenging catch.

LIMITED FISCHMAS ROD

  • A new limited-time Fischmas fishing rod can be crafted.
  • Designed to pierce fish with extremely high force.
  • The rod is expected to gain additional strength later.

  • Improved sorting options added.
  • Visual design updated to make quests easier to read and manage.
