Jujutsu Shenanigans Black Death Update

Update Summary: The Black Death Update introduces major additions across multiple characters, including the public release of True Cannon, a full Black Death moveset expansion, several reworks for Cursed Partners, gameplay balancing, new shop content, build mode improvements, and a large collection of bug fixes and optimizations.

New Codes

True Cannon Changes

True Cannon has officially been released to all players. This update also adds a brand-new awakening move along with several balance adjustments and quality-of-life improvements for the moveset.

  • New Awakening Move
    • Added the awakening move “You weren’t invited.”
  • Move Changes
    • “What are you after?” dash can now be activated separately as an air variant.
    • Awakening no longer drains while using “This is what dessert is like!”
    • Self-damage was added to “What are you after?” and “I had no idea…”
    • Appetizer now locks rotation after the second projectile.
    • “This is what dessert is like!” now has reduced end-lag when it lands successfully.
    • Most awakening skills can now be feinted by sacrificing some health.
    • The special ability now heals the player and slightly restores awakening.
    • Awakening received a new special animation.

Black Death Additions

The Black Death moveset received multiple new abilities, including ultimates, specials, and regular moves.

    • Added the ultimate variant Roach Tornado.

Cursed Partners Rework

Cursed Partners received several reworked skills, new Rika abilities, and major gameplay adjustments tied to cooldowns, health, and awakening mechanics.

    • Reworked Severing Path.
    • Reworked Resolute Slash.
    • Reworked Rika Downslam.
  • New Moves
    • Added Outburst.
    • Added Second Wind.
    • Added Rika Smash.
    • Added the awakening move Copy Wheel for Rika.
    • Added the awakening move Energy Ripple.
  • Gameplay Adjustments
    • Base Rika now stays beside the player and remains invisible to others until her moveset is selected.
    • Base Rika abilities once again share a 13-second cooldown.
    • Eliminating players with Base Rika now copies their CT for Copy Wheel.
    • The special bar now displays the shared cooldown for Rika abilities.
    • Maximum health reduced from 100 to 90.
    • Rika Downslam is now exclusive to the ultimate Rika moveset.
    • True Love Beam was moved into Rika’s moveset.
    • Rika Grab was removed.
    • Rika Throw was also removed.

Lucky Coward Changes

  • Gameplay Updates
    • Backstab now has a finisher.
    • Taunt and dodge keybinds were swapped.
    • Finisher checks no longer consume miracles.

Switcher Changes

  • Adjustments
    • Added a finisher animation to Brute Force.
    • Perfect Boogie Woogie no longer goes on cooldown when blocked.

Defense Attorney Changes

Defense Attorney received one of the largest balance passes in the update, including new variants, improved movement options, damage adjustments, and domain clash changes.

  • New Variants
    • Added a new Pressing Charges variant for 4+2.
    • Added another Pressing Charges variant for 4+1.
  • Move Improvements
    • Judgement’s Reach now uses a grapple air variant against airborne opponents.
    • The grapple variant now includes a finisher.
    • R special projectile speed increased by 1.5x.
    • R special damage increased from 2 to 3.
    • R + Extended Swings now keeps melee i-frames active until the hitbox appears.
    • Players are no longer stunned during the R dash and can use abilities while moving.
    • Gavel rebound flight time increased for both hit and miss cases.
    • Justice Served becomes 25% faster if the gavel is not equipped.
    • Extended Swings second and third hitboxes now match the first.
    • Interrupting enemies with Judgement’s Reach now makes them cough blood.
    • R + Pressing Charges now stuns enemies for 1 second.
    • Defense Attorney now regains 75% of ultimate charge after losing a domain clash.
  • Nerfs and Balance Changes
    • Extended Swings now has 50% more end-lag when blocked.
    • The first hit of Pressing Charges now stuns for only 0.55 seconds instead of 1.3 seconds when knocking enemies back.
    • The first hit now launches enemies much farther.
    • The second hit now has 40% more end-lag on block or miss.
    • Using Pressing Charges twice now removes all momentum.
    • Triple Sentence projectiles now move 25% faster.

Character Balance Changes

  • Perfection
    • Focus Strike no longer stuns on wakeup.
  • Star Rage
    • Melee animations were updated.
  • Restless Gambler
    • Lucky Volley can now hit dead bodies and has a knockback finisher.
    • Restless Gambler now regains 75% of ultimate charge after losing a domain clash.
  • Strongest of History
    • Incomplete domain no longer creates debris when far away.
    • Incomplete domain debris is now smaller.

Shop Updates

The shop received a large collection of new emotes along with a few smaller interface and item adjustments.
