Shot Merge is the latest release from Superbox, one of the prominent mobile game publishers. I have shared a brief overview of this title in this article.
Shot Merge
Shot Merge is a casual puzzle game where you aim, shoot, and merge identical objects to create stronger ones. The gameplay blends physics-based mechanics with strategic merging as you progress through themed chapters featuring animals, numbers, planets, and space. It’s easy to pick up, supports offline play, and offers simple yet addictive shooting-merge challenges.
I have not playing this style of merge game on mobile. And, I have got to say it’s pretty addictive and challenging. You can play it with just one hand. The game mechanics are pretty straightforward.
Your objective at each run is to unlock all the animals. You start with the smaller ones, and as you merge, the bigger ones pop out. The challenging part is keeping the animals within the fence/boundary. As you merge and unlock bigger animals, the free space starts to shrink, and it becomes challenging to keep all the animals within the fence. You can use the boosters or power-ups to clear some space.
If any animal gets out of the fence boundary, the countdown begins, and you lose the current run. The game offers a lifeline if you are willing to spend coins.
Currently, it has the following locations[each location features unqiue animals and creatures]:
- Animal Forest
- African Wilds
- Numbers
- Mars Frontier
You start from the Animal Forest location. To unlock the next one, which is African Wilds, you will need to get all the animals in the Animal Forest location through merging in a single run.
Shot Merge is monetized through ads and in-game app purchases. Players can watch the video ads to claim free coins. Coins are generally spent on boosters, power-ups, or extra lives. IAPs include coins, a no-ads package, and a power-up/boosters package.
If you are looking for a casual puzzle game to play with one hand, you should give this one a shot.
