Heartopia Animal Care Guide

To befriend animals in Heartopia, you’ll need to find both their favorite foods and their feeding troughs out in the wild. This guide explains how Animal Care works and how to steadily increase your bond with each animal group.

As you progress through the main story and raise your Developer’s Guild (DG) level, you’ll unlock the Animal Care section in your Town Guide. From there, you can speak with Annie, who introduces you to the wildlife living around the island. Each animal group stays in a specific area and prefers certain foods.

Early on, Annie will task you with locating the Sika Deer feeding trough in the forest. Once you find it, place food from your inventory into the trough and wait for the animals to eat. After some time, your bond level with that animal group will increase. You can return later to refill the trough and continue building a friendship.

Increasing your bond level provides several benefits:

  • Higher chances for animals to visit the area
  • Improved success when interacting with them
  • Increased odds of animals leaving gifts at their troughs

Each animal group also offers unique interactions. Some allow simple actions like petting and feeding, while others unlock small activities such as hide-and-seek. As your bond grows, you’ll also receive exclusive furniture items tied to that animal family as a reward for your friendship.

To fully experience Animal Care, make sure to find every feeding trough, offer the right foods, and interact with each animal group regularly. The more time you spend with them, the stronger your bond—and rewards—will become.
