Items can also get multiple mutations, but that is rare. The best way to improve your odds is by using Gavel Trophies, taking advantage of weather events, and unlocking the Time Capsule later in the game.
How to Get Mutated Items

- Earn them by winning auctions and exploring item locations.
- Place them down before starting auctions to improve mutation chances.
- They can stack and may boost multiple mutation chances.
- Through Weather Events
- Moonlit Weather increases the chance of Moonlit and Firefly mutations.
- Rainy Weather increases the chance of Wet and Shocked mutations.
- Using the Time Capsule
- Unlock it after reaching $100,000 net worth.
- Find it behind the Shopping Mall area.
- It lets you add mutations to an item of your choice.
