Plaguereaver Rod was added on March 7th, 2026, in the Jungle Expansion Update. Here are its stats:

- Passive: 30% chance of applying plagued mutation; 10x multiplier

It offers impressive progress speed, disturbance stats, top-tier luck, and the passive can be quite useful if you want to farm money, as the plagued mutation multiplier applied by the Plaguereaver Rod grants a 10x fish price multiplier. You can further boost the Plaguereaver Rod’s power with enchants that increase lure speed and resilience (Hasty and Mystical).
How to Get the Plaguereaver Rod in Fisch
The Plaguereaver rod is a powerful rod, but getting it requires completing a long questline for the Plagued Reaper NPC, found inside the Toxic Cave within the Lost Jungle. Make sure you have your gas mask ready before you head in to start the quest.
Plaguereaver Questline Stages
- Stage 1: The Decayed Venom Maw
- Wait for a Toxic Boil event (look for the purple toxic burst, it’s easier to spot at night). You must catch a Decayed Venom Maw. You will need the Decayed Rod (available in the Toxic Cave) to get the “Decayed” mutation, so grab that first.
- Venom Maw is the legendary fish and you need it with Decayed Mutation. Use the Decayed Rod and catch Venom Maw with decayed mutation.
- Return to the Plagued Reaper NPC once you have caught it and submit to begin the next quest
- Stage 2: The Blight Idol
- You need to find a secret Blight Idol in the Toxic Grove area. Use Coal as your bait. Note that luck does not help here—it’s just a matter of persistence, so keep fishing until you get it.
- Return to the Plagued Reaper NPC once you have caught it and begin the next quest
- Stage 3: The Noxious Rotbloom
- After notifying the NPC about the Blight Idol, you need a Noxious Rotbloom. You can spawn these by interacting with mushrooms in the well area. To catch it with the Noxious mutation, use the Toxinburst rod, an Aurora totem, a Luck potion, and Luminous Larva bait.
- NOTE: Fish during the Rotbloom Hunt Event as this fish is event exclusive and spawns when the mushrooms appear and you interact with them (you get a notification at the top). Weather: Any | Season: Autumn | Timing: Any
- Toxinburst Rod applies the Noxious Mutation
- Stage 4: The Witherbloom
- For the final task, spawn a Rotbloom but don’t catch it yet; instead, use the Blight Idol on it to summon the Witherbloom. Use your best rod to catch it (luck doesn’t apply to this secret fish).
- NOTE: You must perfectly catch a Witherbloom. Start by interacting with the mushrooms to spawn a Rotbloom during a Hunt. Instead of catching it, have your Blight Idol selected and left-click to turn the Rotbloom into a Witherbloom. Equip your best rod to ensure the catch goes smoothly, as luck doesn’t matter for this secret fish.

Final Step
Once you have finished all four stages, return to the Plagued Reaper NPC and pay C$ 13.7 million to finally claim your Plaguereaver rod.
